The education aims to give the students very good competence making it possible for them to have a qualified career within the Cultural Tourism sector, i.e. the part of the tourism industry that, on commercial terms, is organizing and facilitating encounters between the various expressions of culture, thus giving the traveller an emotional experience as well as knowledge.

Curious about foreign countries or domestic?

On-the-job training makes up one third of the education and is carried through during three periods. The student has very big opportunity to choose the places where they want to do their training. The whole world is at their disposal! In connection to the on-the-job training a 5 credit project is carried through. Lots of companies are reporting an interest in receiving a student from the Cultural Tourism education. We have a widespread network of LIA positions in various fields of the business.

Marketing cultural tourism

The education is marketing oriented. You will gain knowledge about different marketing strategies which can be based upon the requirements of cultural tourism, knowledge that will contribute to achieving sustainable tourism for both the visitors and the native population.

Advanced Vocational Training leads to work

85% of the students engaged in Advanced Vocational Training have been employed or are running their own business within six months after completing their course. The key to the success is that one third of the education takes place at companies in the field, so called on-the-job training. This is combined with university courses, earning you university credits, and classes with lecturers from companies in the industry. This means that you are gaining working experience as well as building a contact network while studying.

Swedish Travel and Tourism counsel in Holland

"When I arrived at my internship in Holland I was thrown straight into the work. This gave me a lot as my colleagues trusted me fully and I was allowed to take part in all the tasks at the office. Other than the daily work at the office I also had the opportunity to arrange and participate in the Swedish display at Holland's Outdoor fair in Utrecht."
